She said …
Promise me you’ll always stay
That you and I you’d never betray
That with you there will never be pain
And we will be able to stand the rain
The rain that falls down my window pane
what a shame
Seattle woke up in time
To shatter the butterfly effected mind
Journeying back to reframe the onset of a crime
That broke her heart
Foundations of love torn apart
Waiting for an order of materials to come through
Make her anew
Any color but blue
She patiently stands by
tears in her eye
Knowing her some day will come
And she’ll no longer have to run
to whispers that
Promised they would always stay
That her and them they would never betray
That with them there will never be pain
And both will be able to stand the rain
The rain that hits the glass a million times over
She use to be sober
But the drunken hands of time
Swept from behind her and stood in her path
laughed
as she tried to maneuver
up it
down it
around it
when the only way to do it
was through it
And just to prove it
The tended lawn on the other side was green
Greener than she had ever seen
It had to be make believe
There is no way that could ever be for she
That would never be her we
But yet she asks for
Promises that you’ll always stay
That you and her you’d never betray
That with you there will never be pain
And you will be able to stand the rain
The rain that seemingly has no end to torturing her present
Did she miss the lesson
Certainly there is a reason she clings
A reason she leans on
A wish
That will never come true
For promises are often broken.
