I speak in music
when I am in my feelings
whether happy
sad
indifferent
or distant
music gets me
and sings to me
speaks to me
and releases me
from what I cannot put into words
so if you have heard
the playlist
listen closely
silence your own thoughts
your own prejudices
your own biases
and you will hear
every scream
whether excited
or disappointed
it’s there
if only you want to know
but if you want to ignore it
then just listen to the melody
sing with me
and say
“oh, that’s nice.
I’d listen to it twice.”
as it continues to replay
the words
I refuse to speak
If you seek
the answer
then it is right there
if you can
for a moment
be deaf to everything
but me
you’ll see
I actually am
providing the path
to a perfect score
